Overview
The webinar brought together different industry representatives to discuss the changing behavior of reference data in view of emerging lines of business and environmental factors. It was moderated by Predrag Dizdarevic where he introduced the speakers, presented the flow of the webinar and briefly discussed about some of the key drivers, challenges and trends that speakers were going to present in detail

1. As the first speaker, Kartik Makker from Headstrong, talked about:
a. What kind of business drivers are making the hard requirements to make reference data services as near real time as opposed to today’s batch based operating model?

b. How does the current landscape of reference data looks like, what different trends, issues and challenges are being faced by the industry today before near real time reference data platform can be envisioned?

2. The next speaker, Predrag Dizdarevic, went a little deeper and presented his detailed thoughts on

What could be a possible future state of the reference data platform that could emerge on the lines of market data systems?

3. This was followed by Mark Schaedel from NYSE Technology who discussed his experience from the point of view of data providers about:

a. What are the different trends, market needs, challenges, cost, environmental factors and key functions that are evolving and need to be considered while industry is preparing itself to work on the changing enterprise data model?

b. How different industry players in this eco-system need to work in synergy to move forward as it could be beyond the capacity of an individual entity to lead the changes?

4. Sally Hinds from HSBC presented from the perspective of financial institutions as:

a. What sort of infrastructure and staffing changes are being anticipated and have been witnessed in the recent past in order to cope with near real-time reference data services?

b. How the business needs and emerging models based on the concept of commoditized services are going to be aligned in the near future?

5. Next, Don Tirsell from Informatica talked about his views as the provider of technology platform about::

a. How companies should approach the significant task of moving from a batch to a near real-time infrastructure?

b. What are the areas that can be addressed and some best practices that should be considered?

Concluding Remarks
Predrag concluded the webinar by briefly summarizing the points presented by each speaker and offering the thought of "Right time" data is more important than "Real time"
